It is said that all living things have intelligence. A gift that all humans posses due to divine inspiration. When it comes the moment to determine where the intelligence and reasoning of human beings originates, discrepancies between science and religion appear. Such disagreement has been entrenched for years in a struggle to have the absolute truth on the functioning and behavior of human beings.
Intelligence can be defined as a capacity, as the power possessed by sentient beings that allows them to adapt to all areas of life, including behavior, temperament, character and way of being, as it is strongly linked to the way of thinking of each individual.
What do we use intelligence for?
Normally, intelligence helps humans in many aspects of their lives. Some of the things that we experience from childhood to adulthood are classified as transcendent experiences in behavior and development of people, and they are related to the growth and maturity reached that as the years go by. They collaborate with the creation of knowledge, imagination, perception and memory.
Intelligence has two areas. Practical intelligence is used for quick or thoughtful solutions. It is present from childhood to adulthood and we don’t lose it over time. Abstract intelligence, on the other hand, which begins to develop from the twelve years of age, which uses all mental systematizations of human beings.
Apart from these psychological aspects, experts have determined more types of intelligence, applying them to certain skills or abilities that human beings acquire during its development and growth, as part of the normal processes of each person.
Psychological perceptions of intelligence
In experimental psychology, intelligence is in charge of thinking and solving problems, it is involved in behavior and cognitive aspects; in differential psychology, intelligence measures and differentiates between people, balances the character and develops diagnostics and predictions., In Genetic psychology, intelligence has to do with human development.
How does intelligence work?
Intelligence is what makes humans reason, perceive and encode the information acquired, which later generates a specific, voluntary or involuntary reactions.
When a person receives a piece of information, the brain works through a prefabricated scheme, which consists of codes, messages, sender, receiver and context. Upon processing the information with intelligence, you can generate an infinite number of answers or situations caused by people involved in information processing. Later, you can evaluate the results of such information, behaviors and other possible reactions that can occur. Keep in mind that each individual has different patterns of behavior and perception and is more complex to determine similarities or personality traits in common. What shapes the character of people is related to do what they have learned during growth and maturity.
